Below is a letter from Aaron J. Cinquemani, Interim Principal, Woodstock Union High & Middle School who is facilitating an Equitable Climate Action Partnership (ECAP) Leaders panel discussion.

Dear Educators and Community Members,

We are thrilled to invite you to an exciting panel discussion featuring four of our inspiring local school leaders at the UVTPC Fall Conference on November 1st:

  • Mr. Barrett Williams, Principal The Newton School

  • Ms. Julie Stevenson, Principal Hanover High School

  • Mr. Richard Dustin-Eichler, Principal Dothan Brook School

  • Mr. Keenan Haley, Principal Sharon Elementary School

This panel is an incredible opportunity to dive into how we can integrate meaningful climate action into our schools and inspire educators to bring about positive environmental change. The panelists will share their experiences, insights, and challenges in fostering sustainable practices and engaging students and communities in impactful climate initiatives.

We want YOU to be part of this conversation! Bring your questions, ideas, and enthusiasm as we explore how we can collectively create a culture of environmental stewardship and community engagement in our schools. This is your chance to ask questions directly to school leaders who are championing equitable climate action and making a difference in their districts.

Some of the key questions we will explore include:

Larger Questions:

  • How can we foster sustainable practices and environmental stewardship among students, considering the varying levels of support across districts?

  • What are the most effective ways for school leaders to engage both students and the community in equitable climate initiatives?

  • What are the practices that have been most impactful in sustaining this work?

  • Why do you believe it’s essential for students to learn about climate change and get involved in community-based initiatives? What impact do you hope this engagement has on them and their communities?

  • What strategies can educators use to gain support from school leaders for integrating climate change education into the curriculum? How can they effectively demonstrate the value and urgency of this work to principals and administrators?

We are excited to hear from our panelists and to engage with all of you in this important discussion. Your participation will help us build a strong community of educators and leaders dedicated to impactful climate action in our schools.

Join us on November 1st and be part of this inspiring conversation!

Warm regards,

Aaron J. Cinquemani, Ed.D.
