We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our UVTPC community—our 2025 Fall Conference keynote speaker, Jeannie Kornfeld, was recently featured in the Northeast Climate Change Education Collaborative’s August newsletter!
Jeannie, a longtime educator at Hanover High School in New Hampshire, has spent nearly three decades helping students understand the interconnectedness of ecological systems and empowering them to take meaningful action in their communities. From guiding high schoolers in designing a wastewater treatment solution to supporting one of the first student-authored district climate action plans in the country, Jeannie’s career has been defined by innovation, courage, and a deep belief in the power of student voice.
Her dedication was recognized this year with the 2025 NHEE Legacy Award, honoring her leadership of Hanover’s Environmental Club and her decades of inspiring students to become changemakers for sustainability.
In her recent conversation with the Northeast Climate Change Education Collaborative, Jeannie reflected on:
🌱 The power of place-based ecological learning
💡 What has inspired her teaching over the years
🌍 What gives her hope for the future of climate education
We are so honored to welcome Jeannie as our keynote speaker this November. Her story, perspective, and legacy are reminders of why we gather each year—to learn, connect, and carry this important work forward.
