Put Your Program on the Map! VT & NH Environmental Education Directories Are Live

We’re excited to share that New Hampshire Environmental Educators (NHEE) and the NH Energy Education Project have officially launched the Gen:Thrive NH Map and Directory — a dynamic, searchable database of environmental education programs across the state.

This map is part of Gen:Thrive, a national initiative that is helping to build a more connected, visible, and equitable environmental education landscape across the country. Whether you’re an educator looking for field trip opportunities, a school administrator seeking professional development (PD), or a program coordinator wanting to connect with like-minded organizations, this tool is here to help.

🗺️ Explore the NH Map & Directory:

Users can easily search for local organizations, events, curriculum, presenters, and more. Even more importantly, the data collected will help us identify gaps in environmental programming, better target resources, and work toward expanding access to high-quality environmental education across the state.

The more we connect, the stronger our collective impact on environmental literacy, climate justice, outdoor learning, and green workforce development.

🌱 Vermont is Now on the Map, Too!

We’re equally thrilled to share that Vermont’s own Environmental Education Directory and Climate, Equity & Education Map are now live — and in the early stages of development.

These new tools are a major step forward in building visibility and connection among Vermont’s diverse place-based and climate education community.

Why This Matters for the Upper Valley

The Upper Valley doesn’t stop at the state line — and neither should our collaboration. These maps and directories give us the opportunity to strengthen our bi-state regional network that is visible, inclusive, and well-connected.

For our educators and program partners, these tools offer:

Easy access to local and regional programs, partners, and resources

Increased visibility for your organization’s work

New ways to collaborate across state lines and sectors

Insights into gaps and needs, helping us plan smarter and grow stronger

🤝 How to Get Involved

🔹 In New Hampshire:

If you’re part of an environmental program, nonprofit, or school-based initiative, make sure you’re on the Gen:Thrive NH Map.📍 Add Your Info Here

🔹 In Vermont:

Although we are still in the early stages of data collection, both the directory and the map are live — and your input is key to shaping them.

💡 Working in both states? You can be listed in both directories!

We know that many organizations in the Upper Valley offer programs across both Vermont and New Hampshire, and the good news is: you can add your organization to both states' maps and directories — even if your headquarters are only in one state. A great example is the VT/NH Energy Education Project, headquartered in Vermont, which works across state lines. They’re listed in both directories, so their programs are visible to a wider audience — and they show up on the VT map.

This dual listing helps ensure your work is accessible to all the educators, schools, and partners you serve — regardless of where you’re based.

Let’s Put the Upper Valley on the Map

Together, we’re part of a growing national movement to make environmental education more visible, accessible, and impactful. Whether you’re offering PD, creating climate curricula, or leading field trips in the forest, now is the time to connect — across classrooms, communities, and state lines.
